728TH AIR MOBILITY SQUADRON

The 728th Air Mobility Squadron is located as a tenant unit on Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. The squadron is assigned to the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing headquartered at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Lineage:
The squadron was originally organized as the 1630th Support Squadron (Transport) on April 1, 1964 and discontinued on January 8, 1966. On January 8, 1966, the unit consolidated with the 628th Military Airlift Support Squadron, which activated on December 27, 1965. The unit re-designated as 628th Airlift Support Squadron on June 1, 1992, again on July 1, 1994 as the 628th Air Mobility Support Squadron, and one final time on March 15, 2001, to become the 728th Air Mobility Squadron.
