Colonel MICHAEL D. GARROTT

Colonel Michael D. Garrott serves as the Deputy Wing Commander, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing, headquartered on Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The Wing consists of nearly 2,000 personnel divided into two Air Mobility Operations Groups and 9 squadrons, supporting four combatant commands in three areas of responsibility. The Wing provides all Command and Control, en route maintenance support, and air transportation services for theater and strategic air mobility missions in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.

Colonel Garrott received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2002. He has supported significant U.S. Military operations, including Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, and INHERENT RESOLVE. Colonel Garrott has held various leadership positions at the Joint Staff, headquarters Air Force, and Major Command level during his Air Force career. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Garrott was Deputy Division Chief in the Operations Directorate on the Joint Staff.

Colonel Garrott is a senior pilot with over 2,600 hours in the KC-10, C-21, TC-172, C-208, T-1, and T-37.
